How did Shanon pop the question?

We were holidaying in Beijing, China in January 2007. It is a great city! We visited the Forbidden City on the second day and climbed the Great Walls and other cool stuff.

After visitng the Beijing Zoo and seeing the world famous Pandas, Shanon suggested to go back to the Forbidden City at about 6pm. I was very tired from walking for hours in the zoo, but he insisted to go and check out the "night scenes" at the Forbidden city.

We managed to arrive near the Tiananmen Square (where Mao Zedong proclaimed the People's Republic of China and Tiananmen Square Massacre took place), walking towards the Forbidden City. Surprisingly, there were not too much to see at night as the electric lights were not used by the emperors hundreds of years ago!!

.....anyway.....

while we were walking out of the gate (the red building behind shanon from the first picture), he pulled me to the side and then he got down on his knee, he was saying something to me. .... I had my beanie, and scarff on as it was cold,so I couldn't hear what he was saying. I thought he was going to take a picture of me,and so I stood there and made a pose. Then I realised that he didnt take the camera out of his bag.... "Oh My God!!" he wasnt going to take a picture, he was indeed proposing to me..... aaaarrrggghh....

I didnt say yes to him straight away because I was shocked! I just hugged him and smiled. He was still on his knee and was staring at me. I could see a small crowd of people forming beside us and i asked him why is he still on his knee. oh! yes! of course, I have not said YES yet!!

as soon as I said YES to Shanon, he got up straight away!! didnt waste a single second.......

ps. Shanon did not have the ring with him at the time, therefore, I picked a "big" enough ring when we got back to Taiwan to compensate myself :)
